All money collected will go to support the Ag in the Classroom program, which brings agriculture to life for our students through fun lessons, hands-on projects, and even eggs to hatch baby chicks! 🐣🌱

🎶 H.E.S. is just about two weeks away from our Spring Sing, and students have been working hard to prepare!
To go along with our jazz theme, students are welcome to dress in styles from the 1920s or 1930s — the era when jazz was most popular. This is totally optional, and there's no need to buy anything new.
If students prefer not to dress in theme, they can simply wear something nice. We’re excited to see everyone shine on stage!

Join us in honoring the life and legacy of Chance Karnes, a proud Herrin High School Class of 2022 graduate, beloved son of former HHS Football Coach Jason Karnes and Herrin Elementary School Teacher Brandi Karnes. Chance's life was tragically cut short in an accident caused by another driver failing to stop at a stop sign.
CK Day is our way of keeping Chance’s memory alive while giving back to future graduates. This special day serves as a fundraiser for the Chance Karnes "Cowboys & Quarterbacks" Memorial Scholarship Fund, supporting Herrin seniors as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

State testing season is here! 📝 Our students will be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) as well as MAP testing in the coming weeks. Fifth grade will also be taking the Illinois Science Assessment. These tests are an important measure of students’ progress and help us improve learning for all students.
✅ Attendance Matters! Please make sure your child is at school every day and arrives on time so they can do their best! Please do not schedule appointments during testing, if at all possible!
😴 Rest is Key! A good night's sleep helps with focus and performance. Encourage an early bedtime!
🥞 Fuel for Success! A nutritious breakfast helps students stay energized and ready to learn.
