November 14-18th is National Homeless and Hunger Awareness week. H.E.S. will be collecting cake mix, frosting, dressing, instant potatoes, and cranberry sauce to donate to this wonderful cause.
All food donations will benefit the Marion Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry Christmas Meal Boxes that will be assembled the week after Thanksgiving.
H.E.S. will still participate in their food drive for H.E.S. families as well and more info will be coming home on that soon!
If you are able to donate any of the items listed above, please send them to school starting on November 14th and ending on November 17th so that we have time to deliver our donation to the Food Pantry.
If you need any additional information on the McKinney-Vento Act, please reach out to Karen Bratcher or Brandi Karnes at H.E.S.
We appreciate your kindness and for helping those in need.
Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, November 7, 2022 (Teacher's In-Service), Tuesday, November 8, 2022 (Election Day), and Friday, November 11, 2022 (Veterans Day).
The “Get Your Glow On” GOOD BEHAVIOR Celebration is Nov 4!! We hope to see you there!!
Picture ReTake Day at H.E.S. has been moved to Monday, November 14th. Please mark your calendars!
When you hear the word Gratitude, what do you think of or what do you picture?
Often, we can find ourselves noticing things that we don’t like or that we wish were different. Choosing to appreciate things in our life, things in others, and things in the world can be a challenge, but practicing GRATITUDE will help us to be more confident, calm, and focused.
This month's focus for H.E.S. students is on GRATITUDE to support emotion regulation, to support emotion advocacy, to support positive self-talk, and to support stress management.
Can you think of the last time you showed GRATITUDE or thanked someone? This month's challenge is to participate in "random acts of kindness" to show GRATITUDE.
Watch this short video to better understand GRATITUDE!
