Sorry you have to go to our Live Feed on our Website at:

to see the yearbook flyer.

From Mrs. Mayer: Please see the attached flyer for the ways to order the yearbook. If you order online, click on Herrin Unit 4, not the individual school. Orders should be placed by 2/7/2021.

Reminder that students who were issued a chromebook from the school need to bring that chromebook (in the case that it was issued in) daily to and from school. We do not have enough chromebooks for them to have one at home and at school.

Reminder that tomorrow (Jan. 5th) is the first day back to school for students. Grade cards for 2nd quarter will be emailed to student email accounts on Wednesday, January 6th. Please note that the retention list for HJHS is extremely long for this point in the school year and those students who are failing will be retained if grades do not improve this semester. If you are concerned about your child being retained, please consider in-person schooling as opposed to remote learning as there is no substitute for face-to-face education by a licensed teacher.

Herrin Unit #4 will be providing breakfast and lunch on Monday, December 14th. Please see the attached locations and times. This will be the last curbside until January.

Parents: This is a reminder about HJHS student grades. Current grade reports went out to your student's email last Tuesday (11/24). You should verify to your student's enrichment teacher that you've seen their grades. There is an assignment in their Google classroom set up to do this OR you can email the teacher. Also, the grading period ends officially on Dec. 11th. Students will be retained this school year if they do not complete their work!

Attention athletes and families: Starting today, Nov. 20th, Herrin CUSD #4 will pause all athletics due to the Governor's tier 3 mitigations. More information will be passed along as it becomes available.

Please see the attached updated breakfast and lunch notice to parents.

This year, the HJHS Student Council is helping the Herrin scouts with
Scouting for Food. Due to COVID restrictions, scouts are not able to
collect bags door-to-door. Scouting For Food is one of the area’s
largest food drives and is critical for our local food pantry and Herrin
House of Hope. We have distributed blue, Scouting for Food bags to
the students. Those wishing to bring the bags back with food will
return them to SCHOOL this Thursday, where we will collect them
and give them to Scouting For Food on Saturday. Thanks for your
help in this endeavor. Our community needs our help.
We will also have a collection site on Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm at
Southside Lumber.

Updated breakfast and lunch notice.

Just to clarify the tentative schedule for HJHS for the next two weeks-
For this week, 11/16-11/20, we are proceeding with the normal schedule. There are no changes at this time.
On Monday and Tuesday of next week, 11/23-11/24, Herrin CUSD #4 will be using two Remote Learning Planning Days. There will be no in-person or remote learning during that time. There will also be no assignments given or attendance taken on 11/23 and 11/24. Midterm grade reports will be emailed to student emails on Tuesday, Nov. 24th. Parents should indicate that they've seen their student's grades and send a picture of the sign-off/indication back to their enrichment/band teacher through Google classroom.
11/25-11/29 is Thanksgiving Break.
These plans are highly dependent upon the health or our faculty, staff, and students. We will notify families if the schedule changes.

2nd Qtr Midterm ends on Friday, Nov. 20th. Midterm grade reports will be emailed to student emails on Tuesday, Nov. 24th. Parents should indicate that they've seen their student's grades and send a picture of the sign-off/indication back to their enrichment/band teacher through Google classroom.

Remember to set clocks back 1 hour tonight when you go to bed!
